The island became very substantial housing 11 cabinets and a breakfast bar area. The sink was placed on the wall run to keep the island uncluttered.  A second window was installed allowing for a symmetrically placed butlers sink across a corner showcasing richer aesthetics, better light and a further view of the water.  Open book shelves, fluting and corbels invite your eye softly into an elegant space.  The cooking centre was placed at the end of the room framed by a chimney and mantle and symmetrically flanked by drawers and display cabinets.

Special considerations were given for the family’s access to primary needs without walking through the cook’s triangle.  The pantry, ice maker fridge, cutlery drawer, microwave and bench space enables others to access and execute with very little interruption to the cook.

Pot drawers were placed on the left of the cooker and crockery drawers on the right to be close to the serving space and dishwasher.  Oils and spices are housed either side of the cooker above the bench top in a convenient location.

The desk area housing and two filing systems and drawers add a soft contrast with a brush box solid timber bench top.

The kitchen presents beautifully with soft hand painted creamy tones and warm highlighting on a Tesrol Series 600 door.  The 30mm Raw Silk CaesarStone softly compliments and gives a truly elegant feel.

The client believes the kitchen is a triumph.  It addresses the entire back end of the home beautifully, combining it with space, functionality and grace.
