Cabinet hinges are usually of the concealed type and are also called ‘cup hinges’ or ‘Euro hinges’. There are two parts that comprise the hinge. One part being the ‘cup’ and arm, the other part being the hinge (or mounting) plate.
The cup and arm is attached to the door by drilling a hole the same diameter and depth as the cup. The cup is then fastened to the door by two screws. The hinge or mounting plate is attached the side of the kitchen cabinet by two screws and the door is simply clipped or screwed to the hinge plate.
Euro hinges offer various methods of adjustment (up/down, left/right, in/out) and can be equipped with soft closing or dampening mechanisms.
