Nouvelle Designer Kitchens wins 6 awards at the HIA Kitchen and Bathroom Awards for 2006/2007

Nouvelle Designer Kitchens has again topped the NSW Kitchen and Bathroom Industry Awards night of nights by winning a total of 6 Awards at the HIA (Housing Industry Association) Kitchen and Bathroom Awards for 2006/2007.

The HIA State Awards Night was held at Darling Harbour on Saturday 30 September and was attended by members of the NSW HIA who entered and showcased their most outstanding designs and projects from across New South Wales.

Nouvelle Designer Kitchens scooped 6 major awards on offer this year. Nouvelle’s consistent success in winning awards at the State and National levels is a testament to the commitment and quality of the Designers, the unique blend of products, passionate service and unrivalled team spirit. All Nouvelle Designers are Certified Kitchen Designers (CKD) qualified by the HIA and have many years of industry experience.

This year Nouvelle won the 2006 Kitchen Project – Large Kitchen over 18sqm. Additionally a number of Nouvelle’s Designers were also major award winners of the night.

Brian Patterson took out awards for the 2006 NSW Kitchen Designer of the Year, the Best Kitchen Designed to a Specific Theme – Modern and the Best Kitchen Designed to a Specific Theme – Traditional. He has previously won awards for Best Kitchen Designed to a Specific Theme and has taken out the Gold Award for Kitchen Design in a Renovation Project. Brian’s 16 years of experience as a designer with Nouvelle has earned him an extraordinary record of elite awards and a reputation within the industry for his expertise and design ability. His loyal client-base shows a remarkably high level referral rate which is a testament to his personal commitment to customer service. Producing the best design for the space available is of the utmost importance to Brian – “I love to see the joy that a transformed space brings to people’s lives”.

Jan Mitchell was again acknowledged this year by the HIA by winning the 2006 Best Use of Laminates in a Kitchen. She is a highly recognized and consistent HIA award winner having previously won NSW Kitchen Designer of the Year, Best Medium Sized Kitchen Project, Best Kitchen Designed to a Specific Theme – Traditional, Best Use of Laminates in a Kitchen or Bathroom and Most Innovative Use of Materials in a Kitchen or Bathroom. Jan is one of Australia’s most successful designers with 30 years of experience and approaches each project from a fresh and dynamic perspective. Her design ethic is that “Each and every client and project is completely individual and the challenge of finding a suitable design solution is personally of paramount importance”.

Steve Mahlo was also again awarded recognition this year by taking out the award for the Best Kitchen in an Apartment/Terrace. He is one of the industry’s most highly awarded designers and was the HIA’s 2005-2006 Kitchen Designer of the Year. Steve has previously won NSW Kitchen Project of the Year, NSW Bathroom Project of the Year, Best Large Kitchen, Best Kitchen in an Apartment or Terrace, Best Large Bathroom and Best Modern Bathroom. He is also a qualified chef which complements his creative ability extending from the preparation of food to the design of functional and innovative kitchens. Steve says, “I am able to understand my client’s specific and individual needs and combine practicality and functionality within a creative and unique design”.

Brian, Jan and Steve believe in the team spirit that has existed at Nouvelle for many years and also dedicate their awards to the hard work, creativity and expertise of all members of the Nouvelle team – “for us as designers, it is important to know that from the moment a potential client walks into our showroom, they become a part of the Nouvelle family – it is genuine and it is what has worked - iIt always will”.

Nouvelle’s success at the 2006-2007 NSW HIA Awards continues a long tradition of successful entries into the State awards program having now claimed an astounding 34 awards in the last five years alone. Nouvelle now moves forward to the National titles in May 2007 to be held in Brisbane having secured three of the four categories available for consideration at a national level.
