AREA Kitchen by Stosa Cucine Available At Eurolife

AREA just like all kitchen models by Stosa Cucine is available at Eurolife and is the perfect fusion of experience, evolution and quality. It is a contemporary kitchen with graphic, essential lines, which stands out with its sometimes-unusual combination of different materials and surfaces: the result is a totally new kitchen concept, where practical becomes beautiful and unusual becomes everyday.

Area’s combination of materials is designed to create an original, innovative contrast between glossy and opaque finish. With incorporated living area, the kitchen becomes a space that you can live in and enjoy at any time of the day. Not a single detail is overlooked: as is the case with the twin oven columns, and also the design extractor hood, refined and striking in its extreme simplicity. The glossy-opaque dichotomy is a pleasant constant in the wenge-stained oak and black glossy lacquered finish solution. It is further enhanced in the peninsular layout, which has glossy finish for the wall side with integrated appliances, doors and open shelving and wood for the actual peninsular unit, which also functions as a spacious workstation. The result is extremely elegant: the kitchen is no longer just a workspace. It’s a space for living where vision and taste are totally gratified.

Eurocucina 2008 - Kitchen Design Trends Journal

Demystifying trends in the kitchen market

Trying to keep up with the latest global trends without investing in expensive trips to design fairs is a challenge for most small to medium Australian design and manufacturing businesses. With such a heavy focus on European trends, and more design savvy consumers, it is increasingly important for companies to be aware of what’s hot overseas and how we can adapt the looks and trends to make them relevant to the Australian market. A feat within itself, unless you are well versed with trend forecasting. This, fuelled by the growing “polarisation” of the kitchen market presents an opportunity for designers to own the premium end of the market by offering European relevance to their designs.

As independent leading consultants to the building and kitchen industries, Marylou Paino and Liz Jones observed the speed in which our markets are growing and changing and decided to assist local companies by providing professional insights and an invaluable trend resources for Australian businesses. They created Trend Journal to offer a comprehensive trend overview of the European design fairs, but made applicable to the Australian market. The first edition focuses on Kitchen trends. We are taken on a journey through the Eurocucina 2008 fair (a strong directional fair for kitchen design) with the trends observed and then broken down so they are relevant to our local market.

Trend Journal provides an overview of the dynamics in the current Australian kitchen market and outlines how these changes will impact the smaller players. It also details key directions and themes for the kitchen designs of the future. Trend Journal is packed full of beautiful images and examples of the different kitchen styles and components complete with a running commentary of handy hints and expert observation. “The result is a beautiful publication packed full of inspirational ideas and images but with a practical edge that will make it an invaluable tool for any designer or manufacturer competing in this market. A follow up title focussing on bathrooms will be released late next year with environmental and house design titles also in the pipeline.

Kitchen Design Showcase - Modern Kitchen by Nouvelle Designer Kitchens

Brian Patterson from Nouvelle Designer Kitchens created this modern and functional kitchen for three generations of family to enjoy. The owners of this stunning space had recently retired and were looking forward to seeing their dream kitchen come to life. Having children and grandchildren, they wanted to rejuvenate the kitchen to make it as spacious and family-friendly as possible, without compromising their desire for sleek and sophisticated design. The owner’s demands to produce a roomy, elegant and practical family-friendly kitchen were totally satisfied.

Designed for ease of movement between the kitchen and family room, the space is open-plan. The kitchen has the perfect-size working area for all those family dinners, as well as ample seating space and a breakfast bar for the grandkids. To ease bending and lifting, easy storage for pots, pans and crockery was created and all large appliances were placed at bench level.

The stunning island houses a pull-out bin system, underslung sink, dishwasher, tea towel cabinet and first class, clear benchtop. The pantry was specifically placed on the far wall flanked by the tall, glass display cabinet. Dual finishes were selected for the doors and panels and Abet Laminati and polyurethane were chosen to deliver a sophisticated texture. The light CaesarStone benchtops, paired with charcoal glass splashback and stainless-steel handles and appliances, add a distinguished contrast.

To overcome lighting problems, a skylight was installed as well as clever usage of halogen lights to create the perfect ambiance. This kitchen truly is a space that all generations of the family will enjoy.
The kitchen was designed and built by Brian Patterson of
