Range hoods – Elica ‘Star’ range hood

Posted by Kitchen Design

Elica 'Star' kitchen range hood

Yes, this range hood by Elica apparently belongs in the kitchen. The Star kitchen range hood definitely blurs the boundaries of light and air, extraction and illumination. Star’s highly decorative spherical form, an entrancing cascade of crystal, is composed of hundreds of tiny glass prisms that make it a sophisticated and fascinating light source that shines out personality and style. It even has a remote control.

This type of rangehood will only suit a certain style of kitchen design. One question that springs to mind is how hard is this range hood going to be to clean? (Cue "Grease' disco soundtrack...)

I wonder if there is an option for the range hood to slowly rotate.

  1. I first saw these incredible rangehoods in a showroom somewhere – apparently cleaning is easy ! The crystals are mounted in separate panels and clip undone to be put into the dishwasher. Extraordinary! Well, that’s what we were told anyway!

  4. Australian supplier is Integrated Appliance Group. website is integratedappliancegroup.com.au It took wife awhile to find a supplier. They are a little flashy and pricey at 5K but have to agree with the wife, does give kitchen wow factor to guests!
