Smeg PLDA21AC Stainless Steel Sink Incorporating Gas Cooktop
Smeg PLDA21AC Stainless Steel Sink Incorporating Gas Cooktop
This extraordinary one piece benchtop from Smeg is
2100mm by 700mm with a 100mm high facia completely
wrapping it. The PDLA21AC can be positioned flush within
the cabinetry, mounted proud above the cabinetry or
settled anywhere in between.
By positioning the Canali gas cooktop knobs on the front
facia a more spacious and uninterrupted cooking area
and adjacent flat bench space has evolved. This design
also ensures safe and direct cross movement of utensils
over the cooking hob and preparation area.
A single stainless steel sheet is pressed to create a
seamless yet highly detailed bench. The large bowl is
welded to the top of this bench and invisibly seamed to the
hob, there are no outward and visible joins. There are no
difficult joins and crevices to accumulate grime ensuring
maintenance can be kept to a minimum. Even the recessed
cooking hob has gently raised pressings to isolate any
spills or accidental boil-overs to the localised area.
For absolute safety a flame failure device, FFD, is fitted to
each burner assembly. The FFD ensures that should a
flame be extinguished prematurely, for instance, by
smothering or by a sudden air gust, the gas supply to the
specific burner(s) is stopped within 12 second. The burner
(s) can only be reignited by physically resetting the control
knob(s) to the “off” position and then follow normal
ignition procedure.
The gas hob is connected with 1.0 metre power cord to be
plugged into a G.P.O located according to installation
needs, below the benchline. This supplies a continuous
stored charge to spark the gas supply to the individual
burners. Simple depress and turn the knob of the desired
cooking zone for flame ignition.
At 40cm wide and 45cm front to back, now the larger
items are easily washed without the awkwardness of
standard sink sizings. The supplied luxury plug and waste
unit can be optionally substituted for a food waste
disposer as 90mm diameter waste hole is perfectly
compatable.
