Venus kitchen by Snaidero receives the Good Design award
This kitchen immediately attracts, as soon as you see it, involving your visual and tactile senses and stirring sensations. The shapes of this kitchen are so attractive, as seen in the mirror-like effect or parallel curves of its sinuous and symmetric worktop, which add ergonomics and functionality to its aesthetic quality (e.g. it lifts up to allow a drawer to be inserted at the sides, while providing a handy worktop).
With regard to touch, a new and special Microtouch finish (extremely fine micro-fibre is treated with a tanning treatment in water that gives it an amazing leather effect and then applied to the doors in aluminium honeycomb) not only provides a sensory experience similar to touching leather but also maximum resistance and elegant surfaces. Finally, there is its visual effect. This sense is stimulated by a striking colour choice that includes steel and bright coral red.
It is a far cry from austere minimalist trends, placing the kitchen at the heart of the living scene. Moreover, light becomes an integral part of this arrangement. This design solution comes directly from the Fiat Research Centre, providing a specific patent. In short, this solution entails fitting LED spotlights to an extra slim-line aluminium shelf which provides certain advantages such as a more controlled and even distribution of light, a dramatic reduction in the heat emitted and an energy saving of 83%, as well as a life ten times longer than halogen lighting.
These clearly innovative features of Venus never neglect day-to-day functions in the kitchen. A further example is certainly its stunning table/island/bar unit available in three different heights, which features continuous surfaces. This solution meets aesthetic requirements and emphasises the kitchen as a place for socialization. To all this, we can add its overall effect and a choice of finishes for doors, carcasses, worktops and back panels, allowing the kitchen to be customized.
Its range of distinguishing features includes a cylindrical hood (wall mounted or positioned in the middle of the kitchen), a rack, a table, a chair, a stool, cupboards for housing ovens, and a fridge among other things. It also boasts a special cooking zone with a Japanese Teppan Yaki system that enables you to cook without fat and appreciate the natural flavour of food. If we consider that every year several hundred solutions and projects are presented to the Athenaeum of Chicago, we can fully understand not only the significance of the acknowledgement the Venus kitchen received, but also, and perhaps more importantly, the reason why.
