Will your new kitchen kill you?

Posted by Kitchen Design

Earl Strunk, who makes custom made flat pack kitchens and cabinets at his company Struming Industries, has posted a lively thread at the Ubeaut Woodworking Forum.

A study commissioned by the Australian Environmental Labelling Association Inc (AELA) has revealed shocking results showing that almost half of imported wood panel products tested (for kitchens) failed to meet Australian standards with formaldehyde levels of some products over twice the maximum allowable levels. (Formaldehyde is a Class 1 carcinogen)
