Standard Kitchen Tall Cabinet Dimensions

The standard tall cabinet height is 2073mm (+1/- 20mm) and cabinet depth is 580mm excluding the door. Single door tall cabinet maximum width is 600mm and a two door tall cabinet maximum width is 1200mm.

This does not include the kickboard height. Tall cabinet depth ideally should not exceed 620mm (handles excluded).

The reason for a maximum door width for a tall cabinet being 600mm is due to the door weight loading on the door hinges. If the door was any wider, the doors hinges would tend to sag under the weight. Allow five hinges per door.

Standard dimensions for stock or DIY tall cabinets are 2073mm high by 580mm deep (excluding door). As for the base and wall cabinets, tall cabinet widths generally increase by 50mm increments up to a maximum of 1200mm wide.
